From March 2 to 6, the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Dmitry Yablonsky, recorded two works by Sergey Mikhailovich Lyapunov (1859–1923). The composer was a contemporary of Rachmaninov, a distinguished pianist and professor of music at the St. Petersburg Conservatory.

Recorded were Lyapunov’s Piano Concerto No. 1, Op. 4 (1890) and Piano Concerto No. 2, Op. 38 (1909), performed by the young Georgian pianist Shorena Tsintsabadze, and Rhapsody on Ukrainian Themes, Op. 28, dating from the early 20th century when many composers explored folksong settings. Sessions took place at the Russian State TV & Radio Company kultura, Studio 5, in Moscow, Russia and were produced in Surround Sound by Lubov Doronina. The engineer was Aleksandr Karasev.
